Telemetry and Data Transmission for Water Probes
A water quality probe needs a way to read and transmit its data. Ostryl Seatech distributes two Aquaread solutions: the GPS Aquameter handheld device and the Bluelink Bluetooth adapter.
- GPS Aquameter, handheld device with GPS, logging for up to 38 days
- Bluelink, Bluetooth adapter, read and calibrate from your phone
- Both: real-time reading, calibration, automatic logging
GPS Aquameter, the Handheld Device with GPS
GPS Aquameter is the handheld device that connects to an Aquaread probe for field readings, sensor calibration and data logging. It has built-in GPS, so each data set stores its location. It starts instantly, records with one press and has an automatic logging mode of up to 38 days.
The device displays all measured parameters, has an atmospheric pressure sensor for oxygen compensation and robust metal connectors. It comes with AquaLink PC software and a USB cable. To calibrate the sensors of an Aquaread probe, you need this device or an equivalent alternative.
Bluelink, the Bluetooth Adapter for Your Phone
Bluelink is a Bluetooth adapter that replaces the handheld device and connects to the end of the probe cable. Through the phone app, you can view live data, calibrate sensors, assign sockets for additional sensors and log automatically. It has a rechargeable battery and a barometric pressure sensor for oxygen and depth compensation.
Bluelink is built from aluminium and carbon fibre, charges via USB and offers the functions of the handheld device, but directly from your phone. It is the right option for users who prefer working directly from an app.
How to Choose Between Aquameter and Bluelink
If you want a dedicated device with its own screen, without relying on a phone, choose GPS Aquameter. If you prefer to read and calibrate from your phone, choose Bluelink. Both are used with Aquaread probes and Aquaplus. For remote data transmission from a fixed installation, see the WiMo+ probe options.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Bluelink and how does it help?
Bluelink is a Bluetooth adapter that connects to the cable of an Aquaread probe and replaces the handheld device. Through the phone app, you can view live data, calibrate sensors and log automatically. It has a rechargeable battery and a barometric pressure sensor for oxygen and depth compensation.
Do I need Aquameter if I use a logger?
Yes, usually. Even if the probe is used with a logger or another device, you need the handheld device or an equivalent adapter for sensor calibration and for checking readings during installation. The device displays values in real time.
How long can GPS Aquameter log automatically?
GPS Aquameter has a low-power automatic logging mode that allows data recording for up to 38 days, depending on the settings. For each data set, it also stores the GPS position, which can later be viewed on a map.
Can I transmit data remotely?
For remote transmission from a fixed installation, the suitable solution is a probe with a communication module, such as WiMo+, which also supports a 3G/4G modem. Aquameter and Bluelink are intended for field readings and local logging.
